Melarossa — Italy's best-known diet app

Melarossa is one of the first personalized diet apps born in Italy and today one of the most downloaded in the country: over 6 million downloads and an average rating of 4.5 stars on the App Store and Google Play. A product used every day by hundreds of thousands of people to follow a healthy, varied and scientifically balanced diet.

I handle the app's development, design and maintenance, on both iOS and Android: an ongoing role on a real, high-traffic product with constant updates.

The project

Melarossa guides users through every stage: in just a few minutes it collects their data (age, height, weight, activity level) and generates a fully personalized weekly menu, chosen from over 20,000 combinations, with dietary options such as gluten-free or lactose-free.

Beyond the diet, the app offers video recipes with step-by-step preparation, a calorie counter, a smart shopping list, weight tracking, food swaps, quizzes and a 3D simulator: a real wellness ecosystem, all in a single app.

My role

On a product of this scale the challenge isn't just building features, but keeping them solid, fast and polished over time, release after release, on two platforms.
